I drive a 2021 Mercedes E350, and unfortunately it doesn't support wireless CarPlay out of the box. I’ve tried a few different adapters in the past—some of them even more expensive than this one—with extra features like YouTube or Netflix streaming. But the biggest issue with those was that they often disconnected randomly, which was incredibly frustrating.This adapter, on the other hand, has been rock solid. It connects automatically every time, and not once has it dropped the connection while driving. That alone makes it better than all the others I’ve tried.I didn’t buy this to watch videos while driving—I just needed something reliable for navigation and music, and it does that perfectly. Whether I’m using YouTube Music or Apple Maps, it all works seamlessly.If you’re looking for something that just works reliably without the bells and whistles (or the headaches), this is a great choice. I was skeptical of this product when I purchased it and waited for three months of use before reviewing. It has exceeded my expectations. I am the only driver of my car,so I leave it plugged in all the time and it always connects my phone to CarPlay within a few seconds of starting the car. It’s nice to not have to plug my phone in every time! I use it for CarPlay directions, Apple Music, and audio books through Libby. There is a 1-2 second delay in starting or stopping an audio book but that doesn’t bother me. I figure it has to travel from my phone through blue tooth to the adapter and then CarPlay. I can’t speak to use on long road trips as I have only used it for an hour or so at a time. I do wish it had someplace to plug my phone into it for charging as for some reason my new 2025 car only has one charging port and it’s occupied by this adaptor… but that’s not this companies fault. I solved this however by purchasing an inexpensive charging adaptor for my cigarette lighter. I would definitely recommend this product.

I bought two of these for my CarPlay equipped cars that don’t have wireless CarPlay native. I expected a nightmare of Bluetooth connection errors and firmware updates but I’m shocked that for such a low price I got these incredibly simple and easy devices. Literally plugged them into a USB port, connected my phone to the device, and bam. I have wireless CarPlay. It reconnects when I get in the car remarkably quickly too, about the amount of time it takes normally for a car with native wireless CarPlay functionality. I am so impressed, and the dongle is so small the device barely takes up any room at all. Amazed to find something this affordable that just works.

Watch the videos out there and read the instruction booklet...great information. Successful 2019 RAV4 XLE installation. Both Bluetooth and WIFI are used by this JDG device...BT to connect and WIFI for operation. Before installation, make sure the BT and WIFI are not connected to any other device...including your car. Only need to setup your phone to JDG device's BT first time...after that the JDG device auto-connects to phone's BT which auto-magically starts the WIFI connection to your phone. WIFI will seamlessly connect/re-connect each time you start the car and will auto-re-connect to home WIFI afterwards. So far so good!

I do package delivery and like to have my directions showing on my car display (21 Ford Escape) without having to connect and disconnect my phone as I go in and out of my car a lot. Depending on how far you walk away, it does stay connected for about 20-30ft (give or take). There are some times where my screen does freeze when I get back in the car after walking away. However, after I put the car in reverse to activate the back up camera and then return to drive, it unfreezes. Therefore it could be a bug more related to my car than the actual adapter due to being a wireless adapter and not the wired Apple CarPlay.Start up is pretty quick, maybe about 10-15 seconds max.Call quality is pretty similar to what you would get via normal Bluetooth from what I been told.Apple Maps and Waze works very well, but Google Maps does lag a bit for my liking. When streaming audio (music/podcasts) it does have a slight delay when you either play/pause music or skip after you press the button, about a second or two.Overall, very good and a much needed accessory for anyone who works as a delivery driver!

Works great! Connects easily to my phone every time I get in. Make sure you read the instructions when you first plug it in because it does require more than just connecting to the Bluetooth.

It works. The only complaint I have, and to be fair I’m sure every similar type of device will have the same problem, is the lag in audio versus the video being played. Just a little annoying.Otherwise the steps to set the thing up was easy and straight forward. Reconnects by itself every time. The device is also sleek and nice looking, I appreciate that it comes with a USB A to USB C adapter.
